Anonymous sent: I kinda feel like it has become a trend to hate on Frozen without actually seeing the movie. Like you I thought it would be bad but it turned out alright, its a cute movie. I feel like the ending resolve was pretty big in terms of Disney storytelling
It’s been a trend for people who haven’t seen the movie because all they have seen is the pre-production flaws, which is material that didn’t necessarily make it to the final cut anyway. Honestly, that shouldn’t be enough to deter you from watching a movie if you have a genuine interest in seeing how it’s actually going to turn out. Which I’m pretty sure a lot of people have because it’s another Disney movie; who doesn’t want to know how it turns out?
Plus, it’s better to see something yourself to form your own opinion on it rather than relying on someone else’s who may be biased. I’m biased because I have particularly high standards for animated movies, especially for their plot. I have no doubts about art direction and I can probably overlook a lot of it, but if it has plot holes I’d probably go batshit crazy about them!
I totally agree with the ending twist, that was a great move on Disney’s part, but I wish that the rest of the movie could have been the same kind of quality as far as decision-making for the story went.
Yes, thank you for putting my thoughts into words about RotG. I’ve seen so many posts about how much people love RotG, so when I finally watched it I felt like I should have liked it a lot more than I did. I mean, it’s alright, it’s just not..great.
yEAH I’M GLAD SOMEONE AGREES WITH ME. I feel like I was way too pumped up for it so I came thinking it would be amazing, but there were a lot of holes in the plot (which I’ve talked about before when I first watched the movie). And even though an entire year has passed, I still feel this way, I STILL feel like I couldn’t watch ROTG again unless I wanted to criticize and rework it again.
I’ll wait for it to come out as a rental. You’re the first person I’ve seen who hasn’t liked it!
Ahh, really?? I actually happen to see quite a bit of Frozen criticisms on my dash, but the tag is inundated with good reviews….
I’ll just say that I have mixed feelings about it like I did about Rise of the Guardians; it’s not a terrible movie but there were a lot of things it could have improved on to make it a great movie (which to me is 70% the story and 30% the art direction). They’re both B movies imo.
HELLO FRIENDS. I AM IN A BIT OF A PICKLE. I need two more people in my room for ALA to cover all the costs and keep things reasonable. We are checking in on Thursday and checking out on Monday. The cost will be $80 for the whole weekend. If only one more person joins is, I’ll still cover the cost for the second space. But someone please take pity on me! The only requirements are that you are female and don’t mind drinking.
Guys please reblog this? ;A; I need help.
HEYY! If you’re going to ALA and need a room, we’re in need of a roommate or two for the weekend, so let me or Sabrina know if you want to stay with us! :O
It’s worth seeing to form your own opinion on it. There are a lot of people that turned into fans after seeing the movie even though they were on the fence about it before, and then there were people that were excited about it that ended up disappointed etc; there’s a spectrum of reactions to the movie depending on your expectations. Mine were really low, so it was better than I expected.
Also I really like the plot twist at the end, but not much else did it for me. I would rank this movie worse than Tangled but better than Brave (Brave was too narrow in its scope, so even though it won over a lot of daughters, it really didn’t expand horizons for any other audience).
I have to warn you though - Frozen is a musical, through and through! I came in with the expectation of a narrative, but the entire thing is song driven, usually with character songs more than anything. Keep that in mind when you are making your decision to watch!
Trying to push Elsa’s design to be more original and more mature (since there is an age gap between her and Anna) and also I filled out Anna’s figure more. It’s not perfect haha, I could push the design more, but it’s like 3 in the morning and I have an essay due in 36 hours so I’m gonna stop for tonight!
There were so many songs that were cut out of Frozen WHY DID THEY CUT THEM OUT why didn’t they use these songs instead of the ones that they have in the movie just GOSHHH if you want to talk about character driven songs they had material RIGHT THERE IN THE MAKING
sorry i’m just getting really upset about a movie that had a lot of potential but then they limited themselves with what seems like last minute changes and then crunching time when i’m pretty sure no one would have minded if they pushed it back to winter 2014 considering the bad publicity it was getting already
Hello everyone. Not finishing the months in the red have been hard lately and I will need to buy some art supplies in particular soon, so I decided to open some commissions. I can only take a few ones at a time so keep an eye on this post to know when slots are open.
Some extra informations about the examples:
_I only take 5€ for each extra character from third character and onwards. Two characters is considered as a composition
_The bookmark format is a special commission I’m opening as a test. Basically, you can ask for something more specific like a traditional composition but for the price of a traditional full body because of its smaller size
_Please keep in mind the prices are in euros (€) and that I will only accept Paypal
_You are not allowed to use my commissions for any commercial purposes
If you are interested, please contact me at email@example.com
Hey!!! I’m not taking commissions over the winter, but this really cool gal is! Elsi’s art is REALLY BEAUTIFUL, very vibrant and wonderfully detailed, I get an art-boner whenever her art comes up on my dash (ngl). I would consider her an expert in traditional media haha, she is really versatile with her mixed media pieces. :>
So yeah!! I implore you to commission her, she’s a great artist and you would get super special artwork from her and support her in her future art endeavors so it’s basically WIN WIN WIN just do it ok she’s amazing *v*
Ahaha the things I am doing besides studying for finals…..experimenting with printing comics woooo
Well, if I learned anything from this, it’s that I probably need an inkjet printer for this rather than a laser printer. The colors turned out a little dull and the ink shows through to the other side (better paper is probably a viable solution too). Plus, the area that I covered with the comic is very small haha. Next time I’ll try to make it more full bleed.
